5 things to watch for in Game 2 of Warriors vs Celtics 2022 NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors suffered a defeat in game 1 of the Finals Friday night against the Boston Celtics. Warriors looked pretty comfortable end were dominating in the match by a margin of 15 pints till the third quarter in game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals

In the fourth quarter Boston took away the match by 40-16 margin. Jaylen Brown alone took over the fourth quarter and the entire match from Tatum and Boston who looked dominant primarily at both ends, and this method of destruction particularly left the Warriors shook.

Beside Brown, Al Horford puts up 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists to help the Celtics upset the Warriors. There must be a lot of strategies are taken by both the teams to win the championship. Boston would definitely like to continue their winning streak and the Warriors are restless to be back in the game.

Let’s unfold five scenario of the game 2 between the Warriors vs Celtics:

1. Warriors aren’t going to repeat mistakes

It was definitely the Warriors game Friday, those who quitted watching the game at the end might be surprised after seeing the result. It’s maybe because of the Warriors careless attitude in the fourth quarter, going ahead of 15 points doesn’t guarantee you the game.

Steph Curry & Co. definitely would not repeat the same in any ways, all they have to do is be serious till the result of the match comes out.

Boston being a red hot of the three pointers, scored 9 out of 12 occasions. The Celtics’ No. 1 ranked defense also stepped up in the fourth quarter and limited Warriors guard Stephen Curry to just four points after he had scored 30 through three quarters.

This is the first time Warriors suffered a defeat in the series opening match in Chase Center. They must not like it and must’ve been planning to comeback in the game 2.

2. Boston’s last moment post-mortem

Jayson Tatum played good in the game despite that the Warriors suffered the loss for that fourth quarter. Jaylen Brown alone took Boston’s fourth quarter rally, scoring or assisting on the team’s first 14 points of the quarter.

This is not the first time that the Cal product has come up dominating in the fourth quarter. Brown leads the scoring in the fourth quarter averaging 6.8 points per fourth quarter and is shooting 62.5 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from 3-point range in the period during these playoffs.

Brown started the fourth quarter fire in Game 1 and his teammates quickly spread it. It has been proved as a good armory for the Boston this post season and they’ll like if it continues for them.

3. Boston needs to improve in the glass

The Dubs are looking for the improvements in game 2 after the defeat against the Celtics on Friday but it would be surprising if the Celtics steal another game at Chase Center. Despite winning in the game 1, Boston has a lot to do for improvements.

Boston specially on the offensive glass, second chance points, third quarters. Luckily they’ve been able to steal the game 1 but they need to be mindful of the fact that they were lagging behind the Celtics by as nearly as 15 points at the end of the third quarter.

4. Warriors need to stay calm

Game 2 of the Warriors vs Celtics of Sunday will be the Dubs’ first time this playoffs coming into a game trailing a series. The loss in Game 1 was also the Warriors’ first home loss to start a series since the 2016 Western Conference Finals.

This would be a test for the Dubs, however they are not afraid to take the test, all we have to remember is that the warriors are in the Finals for the sixth time from 2015. they’ve won four times also. as Klay Thompson said postgame:

“Well, you know, it’s first to four, not first to one, and we all have been through situations like this. There’s no reason to panic.”

5. Steph Curry vs Jayson Tatum

Steph Curry of the Golden State warriors was pretty awesome with the 34 points, but Jason Tatum didn’t yet show up his best in the game 1. It’s more of Jaylen Brown, Al Horford and Marcus Smart who caught up the match for the Celtics.

Tatum is of the the claimants of the Finals MVP if Boston becomes the 2022 NBA title holder, so he would definitely show up his talents in the game 2. Steph Curry would also continue to score and keep the good form as he is the most deserving candidate of the Finals MVP along with the fact that the Warriors are the favorites.

Forget everything, the Warriors must have learnt a lesson from the feat and they must remember that is NBA Finals and you must take care of the game to the very last.

Playing for the sixth time in last eight Finals and heading to win the fourth one hopefully the Warriors coming out of their mistakes strongly in the second game against the Celtics.
