Watch: NBA icon LeBron James furious after being heckled by a disruptive fan in Lakers defeat vs Clippers

LeBron James experienced an eventful Tuesday night when he was taunted by a heckler over hisreceding hairline during the Los Angeles Lakers 133115 defeat to the LA Clippers. The fan shouted the insult while LeBron was heading for the tunnel during halftime, with the Lakers down 7754.

The heckler‘s comment provoked a heated exchange, with security quickly intervening to hold back LeBron and direct him down the tunnel. Lakers center Thomas Bryant and point guard Russell Westbrook were also near LeBron and were seen staring in the heckler‘s direction.

It is unclear whether they were asked to leave the game or spoken to by security.

Though the Lakers lost the game 133-115, Lebron’s 46-point performance got him closer to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time NBA scoring record.

He currently stands 158 points away from the record, held by Kareem since 1984, and is averaging 29.9 points through 39 games this season. The 38-year-old also made history in the game by becoming the first player to score 40 points against every team in the league.

To add to this, he also tied Michael Jordan’s record of three 45-point games – the most of all time – at such an age.

The Lakers, currently with a 23-26 record, will now travel to the Boston Celtics on Saturday night, followed by a game against the high-flying New York Nets on Monday. The Lakers are currently in 13th place in the Western Conference, but LeBron‘s determined efforts could see them rise up the tables in no time.

It’s possible that by then, Lebron might have broken the record, which has been held since 1984 and become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
