Brock Lesnar got his nose cracked after Cody Rhodes blindsided him on WWE RAW

Last night, Cody Rhodes gained an advantage over Brock Lesnar ahead of their encounter at WWE Backlash this weekend. Rhodes sought redemption after Lesnar’s vicious attack on The American Nightmare the night after WrestleMania, and he managed to achieve a small victory.

When Cody’s music hit, The Beast Incarnate was waiting in the ring, and Rhodes dropped him with a shot to his face. The impact created a definite popping sound, and it appeared that Rhodes tagged Lesnar for real as he had some bleeding from his nose afterward.

After Lesnar rolled out of the ring, Rhodes aimed a kick at him, which missed. Security intervened and separated the pair, as per the storyline. Lesnar’s bloody nose adds another layer to the already intense storyline between two stars who are not currently fighting over a world title.

Both Brock and Rhodes left WWE to achieve success elsewhere, with Brock joining UFC and Rhodes becoming one of the founding fathers of All Elite Wrestling. They both returned to WWE with the aim of winning world titles and reclaiming a seat at the top table. The pair was scheduled to tag together the night after WrestleMania 39, with Lesnar offering to team up with Rhodes against Solo Sikoa and the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

However, before the match began, Lesnar viciously attacked his partner by putting him through the announce table and laying him out with a devastating F-5 onto the steel steps. One week later, The American Nightmare issued a challenge for Backlash, which was made official one week after that.

Rhodes mocked Lesnar’s attire, claiming, “You (Brock) could wear a cowboy’s hat, but you are more of a coward than a cowboy!” Due to stipulations from a previous match between Reigns and Lesnar, Lesnar cannot challenge Reigns for the world title while Reigns holds the championship. It seems that while Cody was defeated by Reigns at WrestleMania 39, it won’t be the end of his pursuit for the title, and Lesnar would be an ideal opponent to position him for another shot.

Could Cody have further provoked The Beast with the apparent nose-busting shot he landed on Lesnar during Raw, especially considering Lesnar’s legitimate athletic background in the UFC? Their highly anticipated match will take place at WWE Backlash on Saturday, May 6th, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
