Ex-Green Bay Packers RB Arrested in Massive Raid Involving 200 Pit Bulls

Former Green Bay Packers running back LeShon Eugene Johnson has a history of legal troubles. Fast forward to now, his troubled past adds recent charges in what is believed to be the largest federal dog-fighting case in U.S. history.

This marks the second time in his life he has been accused of such crimes. Federal authorities have charged him for running a large-scale dog-fighting and trafficking operation in Broken Arrow. Investigators claim he operated “Mal Kant Kennels,” a business that bred, sold, and trained dogs for illegal fights.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Johnson recently appeared in federal court, facing charges for owning 190 pit bulls used in dog fighting. He is also accused of selling, transporting, and delivering dogs for illegal fights.

The DOJ revealed that Johnson now faces multiple charges under the federal Animal Welfare Act. They also said that federal agents seized 190 pit bulls from his property in October 2024—believed to be the largest dog seizure from a single individual in a federal dog-fighting case.

While Johnson is making headlines for all the wrong reasons, his former team, the Packers, is making headlines in the NFL Mock Draft.

Green Bay Packers eye Emeka Egbuka in NFL mock draft

The Green Bay Packers might pick Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, according to mock drafts.

Egbuka had a stellar college career. In 2024, he caught 81 passes for 1,011 yards (0.92 km) and scored 10 touchdowns, helping Ohio State win a national championship.

The Packers need a strong receiver for quarterback Jordan Love. With Christian Watson still healing from a knee injury and no clear No. 1 receiver, Egbuka could be the answer to their offense.
