Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady labels Suns star Kevin Durant as the best NBA forward

Tracy McGrady is an NBA legend who excelled throughout his professional career. He is a seven-time NBA All-Star and has won the scoring Champion twice. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, it is needless to mention McGrady’s on-court scoring prowess.

Tracy McGrady had been among the best forwards in the league during his time. Now as the Hall-of-Famer places his verdict regarding who the best forward in the NBA is, his statement cannot be taken lightly given his stellar repertoire.

Tracy McGrady picks KD as best NBA forward

Tracy McGrady became the center of attention during the 2002–2003 NBA season, scoring 32 points on average per game and leading the Orlando Magic to the postseason. He would play in the league for 15 seasons until retiring from the NBA in 2013.

Recently, Tracy McGrady was asked who the best NBA forward is in an interview where the former NBA star shared his take.  He responded saying, “I gotta go with Kevin Durant. I don’t think anyone is better than KD.”

This was purely out of respect that they both share some attributes together as scoring champions in the league. Both NBA stars have won the top scorer award more than once, and there is a subtle similarity in both their playing styles.

KD’s importance on Suns offense

Kevin Durant promises to be of great importance to the Phoenix Suns in the coming season, a team he joined earlier this February. KD who was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns, stands out as one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the game. The Phoenix Suns, meanwhile, were ranked among the NBA’s top seven offenses over the past two years.

Durant’s presence promises to enhance various aspects of the Suns’ performance, mainly by providing a remarkably modest foundation for their offensive play. His ability to facilitate Mikal Bridges’ growth both as a playmaker and a scorer from the elbows proved crucial in keeping the Suns competitive in the league.

KD, who is a midrange scorer, can also pull up for a shot at any moment, possesses the length to shoot over any defender, and even employ the ‘one-legged Dirk Nowitzki fadeaway’ to create additional separation when needed.
