“He calls and he says the fight is off”: Logan Paul exposes ex UFC star of “ducking” him, after handing him the best fight deal

Logan Paul’s wrestling career is keeping him busy right now. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Logan Paul hinted that he was still interested in boxing and described how a former UFC fighter shied away from engaging in a bout with him.

Maverick signed up a deal with WWE last year after not finding much success in professional boxing. The 27-year-old internet celebrity, however, is now hoping to extend his WWE contract as it is currently set to expire after his match at WrestleMania 39 against Seth Rollins.

Who is the UFC  fighter that Logan Paul is referring to?

Logan competed in three boxing matches before switching to the wrestling business, one against Floyd Mayweather and two against fellow YouTuber and current business partner KSI. But the internet sensation hasn’t yet had a boxing triumph. Maverick in a conversation with Ariel Helwani, stated he was very close to finalizing a contract with Nate Diaz.

“I thought I had something locked in. And apparently, he calls and he says the fight is off. Like, ‘Why?’ Why? So you can fight someone else? For what purpose? To get less buys? And maybe an easier fight? I don’t know. I don’t get it.” Logan said.

Nate Diaz defeated Tony Ferguson in UFC 279 in 2022, giving him his first victory in three years. Despite the fact that he is now no longer under contract with the UFC. The 37-year-old fighter’s enthusiasm for boxing, though, is also pretty strong. He was there to watch Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva in person, even though he dodged Logan.

“We had the sweetest deal for him. And he knows the type of numbers that I bring in. Like, I am not a quarter-million pay-per-view type of fighter. You’re gonna get 750,000-1,000,000 buys. And I am a 0-1 YouTuber. Seems like an easy fight on paper, you know.” Logan added.

It is uncertain why Nate would avoid the fight with Logan Paul as the former UFC fighter hasn’t discussed any reasoning in public. The former YouTuber turned wrestler, though, is still quite optimistic about signing a contract with Nate. It only remains to be seen how everything ultimately plays out at this point.
