Kevin Durant, the star player for the Brooklyn Nets, talked to Knicks fans after his team beat the New York team 112-85 on Wednesday. He literally threw a bombshell into the crowd with his words.
Durant was questioned about his conversation with a group of teenage Knicks fans before the game, and he explained why he feels obligated to poke light at the heated competition between the Nets and Knicks.
“As long as I’ve got a Nets jersey on, if I see a Knicks fan, I’m always gonna give them a thumbs down or just give them some s–t about being a Knicks fan,” KD stated. “It only adds to the rivalry, and the fans feel more engaged when they see a player engaging in the rivalry as well, so it’s all in fun.”

On Wednesday, Durant led all scorers with 29 points and added 12 rebounds and 12 assists as the Nets cruised to a blowout win. Since April 7, 2013, while he was with the Thunder, he has not lost to New York. The New York Knicks have never been able to beat him, as he is now 21-3 against them in his career.

The Nets still contrived to qualify for the playoffs, but the Boston Celtics blasted them in the first round. While the Knicks have Durant, the Nets have nothing to worry about because of him. For the time being, KD is in charge of New York City. There has been no change this year at least.
