Michael Jordan once turned down lifelong fan Chamillionaire’s picture request while demanding $15,000 for a jersey

Michael Jordan has been labeled rude and pompous severely, notwithstanding his fame as a basketball player. However, it is practically impossible to expect someone to completely live a nonchalant life in the limelight. Yet Jordan’s negative attitude was always so prevalent that he could show it to anyone at any stage, whether they were a basketball player or a legend in their trade.

However, a popular rapper at that time, Chamillionaire was unfortunate to have met Michael Jordan in a bad mood and had his proposal for a photograph turned down in a disappointing way.

Michael Jordan once turned down lifelong fan Chamillionaire’s picture request

One of the most famous instances showcasing Jordan’s aggressive nature occurred when he refused Chamillionaire’s request for a photo. This incident happened despite the rapper’s popularity back then.

In 2009, at a party for Jordan, Chamillionaire decided to take a chance and ask for a picture with the legendary basketball player. At that moment, Jordan was surrounded by some Boston Celtics players and the renowned director, Spike Lee. Chamillionaire said in a released video that what surprised him the most was the manner in which MJ responded to his request.

“Nobody was talking, they were just chilling or whatever. I was just like, ‘Hey I don’t mean to be rude, but Mike I just wanted to know if I could get a picture?’ I kind of expected him to say no, so I wasn’t mad if he said no. But the way he said it? He said, ‘Oh hell nah, man! I ain’t taking no pictures with no ni**as,”, Chamillionaire narrated.

Most famous people in the world have one or two sides of their lives which might seem uncomfortable to those looking up to them as role models. And this was probably one such instance for Chamillionaire.

Michael Jordan allegedly sought $15K for a jersey from Chamillionaire

Remembering how Chamillionaire’s request was rebuffed with a bad response from Michael Jordan, he related, “I kind of expected him to say no, so I wasn’t mad if he said no. But the way he said it? He said, ‘Oh, hell, nah, man! I ain’t taking no pictures with no n*****.'”

Chamillionaire then shared a story about buying one of Michael Jordan’s jerseys for $7,000, maybe to show that he was more than just a regular fan. MJ replied, “You pay $15,000 right now for a jersey from me, and I’ll take a picture with you.”
