NBA fans post hilarious reactions following Jordan Poole’s $140M contract extension

The Golden State Warriors clearly believes in their youngster Jordan Poole and they are rooting for making him a horse for the long race. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted on Saturday that the Warriors and Poole have agreed upon a four-year extension worth $140 million.

The massive contract follows Poole’s breakout season of 2021–22, while he scored 18.5 points per game, shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from 3-point range. Throughout that season, he was the most improved player and secured Sixth Man of the Year award.

But there is a little twist in the story. This contract is penned just after a week following the controversial incident between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole, which leaves fans assuming that this contract is just a consequence of their conflict. Green not getting an extension this year further validates this assumption.

And for obvious reasons, netizens left insane remarks on Twitter regarding this contract situation. Some of the funniest reactions are listed here for you!

Former Golden State Warriors guard, Jeremy Lin, who spent time with Poole in the G-League, wished him success along with the fans on Instagram. “Woke up to great news! I don’t normally comment on contracts, but this ones different,” Lin wrote.

“I went from scrimmaging against @jordan_poole in private Bay Area runs to becoming G-League teammates to seeing him win a championship to a contract extension. Adversity and “demotions” like the G-League reveal someone’s character. Its not just bc I saw JP beast the G-League. It’s bc I saw him do it with a pure love of the game AND a genuine selflessness to root for his teammates thats compelling me to write this post. A hard-earned, much deserved new deal.”

How do you see this contract extension? Do you think it will be worth the pennies for the Warriors in the end? Share your thoughts with us in the comment!
