A new video shows Joel Embiid having an awkward moment during pregame warmups before the Philadelphia 76ers’ Christmas Day game against the Boston Celtics.
He injured himself in a silly way, but luckily it didn’t affect his game. Fans were relieved to see him play well against the defending champs on Christmas Day.
Just 45 minutes before the game, Joel Embiid was taking warm up shots when he accidentally backed into a security barrier. Then he lost his balance, twisted his right ankle, and collapsed to the ground.
While the moment made fans and teammates laugh, it also made everyone wonder if Embiid would still play. However, Embiid didn’t let the mishap ruin his holiday spirit.

After icing his ankle, he returned to warmups just in time. Luckily, the fall didn’t hurt his performance. Embiid scored 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, helping the 76ers win 118-114 against the Celtics.
Joel Embiid Makes Things Easier for Sixers against Celtics
Joel Embiid’s goal this season is to make life easier for his teammates, and he did just that in a big Christmas win over the Celtics.
