LeBron James earlier chimed in on March Madness as he reacted to the Duquesne basketball team’s success, which resulted in many young athletes doing unique things to get the attention of the 4-time NBA Champion. A Tar Heel recently performed one such unique act.
North Carolina player’s bizarre LeBron James admiration revealed
With the North Carolina Tar Heels playing in the NCAA Tournament this week at Crypto.com Arena, the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, one North Carolina player revealed his admiration for Lakers superstar LeBron James in a really weird and unique way.
“I just took a s**t where Bron takes a s**t,” said one North Carolina player, according to the Fayetteville Observer. The statement went viral on social media and left the fans grossed out by Tar Heel’s antics.
The North Carolina Tar Heels just had to beat number 4 seed Alabama Crimson Tide to set up an Elite Eight matchup with an ACC rival, but the Tar Heels lost the track race against the Tide 89-87.
Alabama defeated top-seeded North Carolina in March Madness
With Grant Nelson converting a go-ahead three-point play with 38 seconds remaining, the Alabama Crimson Tide became the first team in this year’s tournament to defeat a number-one seed, beating North Carolina 89-87 on Thursday night.
Nelson finished with a season-high 24 points, 19 of which came in the second half alone. Additionally, he blocked RJ Davis’ attempt at a tying layup after giving Alabama the lead. He also secured 12 rebounds and recorded 5 blocks.
Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats said, “These guys are bringing their competitive side out at the right time.” He added, “You want to be peaking in March and we’re peaking in March.”
North Carolina made it to the March Madness final in 2022 as a number 8 seed but lost to the number 1-seeded Kansas Jayhawks 72-69. The Tar Heels did not qualify the following year and declined a National Invitation Tournament invite.
As for Alabama, this marks their first appearance in the Elite Eight in 20 years and their second overall in the men’s tournament. The Alabama Crimson Tide will now face the number 6 Clemson Tigers, who upset the number 2 Arizona Wildcats 77-72 earlier on Thursday, in the Elite Eight.
