2024 NBA playoffs possibility: Will Warriors surpass Rockets to claim the last spot?

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the best teams in recent years, winning 4 of the last 10 seasons and making 6 finals appearances. While the Warriors had a strong start to the 2023-24 season, they faced some setbacks that have affected their playoff chances.

Warriors, who recently approached LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, are struggling in the Western Conference since last few weeks and their chances of making it to the playoffs are looking dicey as of now.

Warriors’ possibility to secure NBA playoff  explained

Three weeks ago, it seemed that the playoff scenario was almost set in the Western Conference. However, the situation shifted when the Houston Rockets began a winning streak while the Warriors started to struggle. The Warriors are 5-5 in their last 10 games, and the Rockets are now on the brink of pushing them out of the tournament and stealing the final Western Conference Play-In Spot.

Warriors Head Coach recently spoke on the situation and said, “We can’t expect to just ride Steph game after game after game, these last few weeks have been really tough on him. We’ve put the burden of this franchise on his shoulders for 15 years, if you want to say that him playing 30 minutes instead of 32 is a difference in a win and a loss, I totally disagree with that.”

The Warriors have 10 games remaining in the season, including a crucial matchup against the Rockets in Houston on April 4. It seems imperative for the Warriors to win at least 6 or 7 of their last 10 games to secure a playoff spot. Ensuring the perfect health of their star point guard, Stephen Curry, is crucial, as he has been the most important player for the Dubs in the playoffs.

Did Warriors’ Steph Curry ever miss NBA playoffs?

The 10-time All-Star has appeared in the NBA playoffs nine times in his career, all with the Golden State Warriors. This means he has missed them on five occasions: the 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2019-20, and 2020-21 seasons.

Stephen Curry averages 27.0 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game in the 147 playoff games he has played, contributing to the Warriors’ status as one of the most successful teams in NBA history, particularly in the last decade.
