Aaron Rodgers reflects on 18-year Packers tenure in heartfelt photo montage goodbye message: “It was my honor to be your QB”

Aaron Rodgers, the star quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, bid an emotional farewell to his team and its fans in a heartfelt message attaching some memorable photos of his nearly two-decade tenure with the franchise.

After the end long-awaited trade saga, Aaron finally got enrolled in the Jets roster as the Packers traded their long-time quarterback to the New York Jets for the No. 13, No. 42 (second round), and No. 207 (sixth round) picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, marking an end of 18 years tenure with the franchise.

Gang Green is expected to hold a press conference Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET to introduce Rodgers as their new QB.

Aaron Rodgers made fans go teary with an emotional post following his departure from the Packers

On Tuesday afternoon, the Packers’ long-time quarterback Aaron Rodgers officially bid adieu to his former team by posting a series of photos on his Instagram account from his tenure with the Packers with a lengthy heartfelt caption.

“I’m not sure it’s possible to fully express the gratitude that I have to the Packers, our incredible fans, the state of Wisconsin, the thousands of players that I crossed paths with, the incredible men and women who work for the organization and the amazing people who I got to meet along the way, in one post with 10 pictures, but I hope you read this and feel my heart and soul, filled with love, joy and peace about my time in green and gold,” Aaron wrote.

The four-time MVP thanked a litany of people including his teammates, coaches, training staff, members of the front office, and many others working behind the scenes in the lengthy post.

The 39-year-old had a special message for his Packers fans as the departure of the 10-time Pro Bowler would lead them to miss the incredible performance Aaron delivered over the last 18 years with the team as a starting quarterback.

“To the fans, THANK YOU, you made every run out of the tunnel special, every home game magical, and it was my honor to be your QB”, Rodgers wrote.

The veteran QB ended his post with another heartfelt note for the fans citing,“This is not the end for us, I will see you again Green Bay, you’ll always have my heart.”

The 15-year-starter played 18 seasons donning the Packers jersey after first getting selected by the team with the No. 24 pick in the 2005 NFL Draft and holds a number of records with the franchise including four NFL MVP awards and eight division titles (11 playoff appearances).

Despite the disappointment of leaving, Rodgers’ message emphasized his gratitude for the time he spent with the Packers. The Packers fans are surely going to miss Aaron moonlighting as a hero on the field and the Jets fans will eagerly await to see if Aaron can continue his legacy and lead the team to grab the Super Bowl title in his first season after a 54-year Super Bowl drought.
