Paul George’s unconventional pick for NBA Rookie of the Year

In a recent episode of Podcast P, Paul George can be seen expressing his opinion on who thinks would win the Rookie of the Year award. The Rookie of the Year award is given to the top Rookie or newcomer in the NBA. Last season the award was grabbed by Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors.

The favorite for the Rookie of the Year award is Victor Wembanyama as people expect the top draft pick to prove himself in his upcoming rookie season. Paul George on the other hand chose Chet Holmgren to be his favourite to win the ROTY award this time. Holmgren rookie year would have been the 2022-23 season but a Lisfranc injury ruled him out of play. That makes this upcoming season his rookie season and Paul George emphasized this.

He said during the podcast, “I know Chet didn’t play much due to the injury his rookie year. But being in the league, seeing the game up close for a year, it’s going to give him that much more of a head start.” The Clippers star focused on how much the rookie must have observed the game in his first year on the bench and it would give him a good advantage over all the other rookies.

What do you think of George Paul choosing Chet Holmgren for ROTY? We are eager to know your thoughts on this subject, so drop down in the comments and let us know.
