Al-Nassr reportedly pursuing Sergio Ramos to join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia

Al Nassr has reportedly decided to go all in for Sergio Ramos for a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

According to El Nacional, Al Nassr, which currently has Cristiano Ronaldo as the highest-paid athlete in the world, is interested in signing Ramos this summer.

Ramos departed Real Madrid on a free transfer for Paris Saint Germain in 2021 and his current deal is now about to expire this summer. With Milan Skriniar poised to join PSG in the summer, the experienced Spanish defender may be let off the wage bill.

Ramos has been in fantastic form this season, but his future is unknown, and he may consider a transfer to the Middle East.

Why could Ramos leave PSG?

PSG are facing a sanction from UEFA as they have been charged with breaking Financial Fair Play rules. They are one of ten clubs that were fined for breaching FFP rules in the 2020-21 season. While they have paid a €10 million fine, they still have €45 million in suspended future fines. And now further punishments could follow if they do not mend their ways.

According to Diario AS, the biggest threat that the club fears are being kicked out of the competition entirely and that is why the club is working on reducing the wage bill as soon as possible.

Sergio Ramos happens to be among the highest-paid players in the world. He is also 36 years old and past his prime. It makes sense that the club will try to get rid of his huge wages. The fact that Milan Skriniar will join them is further proof that they could part ways with the Spaniard.

Considering Al Nassr’s huge financial backing, there will be no problem for them to register Ramos and we could see both Ramos and Ronaldo share the pitch once again.
