Following growing interest from Liverpool to sign him as the next manager, Ruben Amorim gave a cryptic response to that in an interview saying,
“I’m focused on Sporting, I’m very proud. We are focused on winning titles… at the end, we will see. Aside from the contract offers, I’m very happy here. More important, it is now to beat Benfica.”

Jurgen Klopp understands Xabi Alonso’s decision
Before Ruben Amorim, Xabi Alonso was considered the top candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp. However, before Liverpool could even make an offer, Alonso confirmed that he would be staying at Bayer Leverkusen for the next season. Following his success at the current club, it was evident for him to continue his form with them.
Following Alonso’s statement, Jurgen Klopp reacted by saying, “Like a young manager, being at a club where he is doing well, so that I can, I had a similar situation and did pretty much the same if you want and never regretted it.”
“Leverkusen has a very good team, and probably they will keep the whole team together,” Klopp added.
