Buffaloes’ Travis Hunter becomes first Michael Strahan Lifestyle Brand Ambassador

Travis Hunter, the cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes, suffered a lacerated liver due to a late hit in a game against Colorado State. This is considered a significant injury after which he is unable to participate in the upcoming games in this regular season.

But his break from the field hasn’t stopped his endorsement empire from growing. He has recently signed a very profitable NIL deal with a lucrative brand and became their first brand ambassador.

Hunter Inks NIL Contract with Michael Strahan Lifestyle Brand

Travis Hunter signed a name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal with Michael Strahan. This agreement includes promoting Michael Strahan’s clothing and lifestyle line and a new skincare and shaving brand called “Michael Strahan Daily Defense.”

Hunter is the first brand ambassador for Michael Strahan’s company. He’s a significant addition as he’s widely regarded as the best player in the 2022 recruiting class and is also a trailblazer for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Michael Strahan, a Hall of Famer who attended Texas Southern University, expressed his desire to launch the brand with an HBCU athlete as the face. He sees this as an opportunity to support and raise awareness for HBCUs and their athletes and he shared his excitement for Hunter to join the brand.

“I am overjoyed to officially welcome a true game-changer, Travis Hunter, to my team to help us build our new skin and shave line while also expanding my clothing lines that are available at amazing partners like Men’s Wearhouse. I admire Travis’s confidence, poise, and talent. I cannot wait to see what he accomplishes on and off the field,” Strahan said.

Travis Hunter is also excited to represent the brand, stating that he admires Strahan. He emphasized his commitment to being a role model and leader, showing that success can be achieved through hard work and dedication.

“I’m happy to be the leader and to show people if I can do it, you can do it. It’s not that hard. You just have to work towards it. If you’re working towards something you really love, it’s not hard at all.”

The NIL deal allows the CB to earn money for the use of his likeness in advertising and other branding opportunities. This is significant because, until recently, the NCAA had restrictions on athletes earning income from their image and likeness.

Hunter’s injury update

After Travis Hunter’s injury, there was still some hope that he would return soon and join his team. However, the recent injury update has shattered everyone’s hopes.

The head coach Deion Sanders shared that the CB will miss two or more games. He will not be able to play until he is completely healthy. There are chances that he will be out of the field till the bye week.

Hunter is a notable two-way player, contributing to both offense and defense for Colorado. His absence could have a significant impact on the team’s performance.

The injury occurred when Hunter was hit by Colorado State’s Henry Blackburn during a deep pass attempt. Blackburn was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, and there were calls for a more severe punishment, such as ejection or suspension for Blackburn.

But now, the CB is not able to play and contribute to his team’s journey in this regular season. We hope Travis Hunter recovers soon and joins his team in the playoffs.
