Charles Barkley Leaves No Mercy for Lakers and JJ Redick on Live TV

NBA legend Charles Barkley is one of those former players who never hesitates to speak his mind. If he sees something wrong in the NBA, he’ll call it out.

While he was quiet last year, 2025 has started with a bang. Barkley is fired up about Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick, and his bold comments have the internet buzzing.

NBA ratings are down, and both Charles Barkley and JJ Redick know it. But they don’t agree on why. Barkley went off on Redick after Redick blamed the NBA’s TV partners for the low ratings.

Redick said they weren’t doing enough to promote the game and that their negative comments were pushing fans away. Barkley didn’t like this and angrily called Redick a “dead man walking,” while also criticizing the Lakers’ recent coaching changes.

Barkey said, “JJ you better calm down because when you come for the King you better not miss. He said something about we’re the reason people ain’t watching this crappy product we got. Yeah, us. Like we out there jacking up a hundred threes a night.”

The 11-time all-star added, “I don’t know who that is, but JJ, you come for the king, you better not miss. ‘Cause I can get you brother. ‘Cause remember I got your Lakers’ games. You can’t hide them flaws they got. You just a dead man walking.”
