While speaking on a live NBA on TNT show from the Chase Center, Charles Barkley urged people to take action to help the homeless. However, some of his words were harsh, which led to the usual controversy he’s known for.
The TNT analyst has never been a fan of San Francisco. He has criticized the city many times, especially about its homeless crisis. He is known for speaking his mind, and this time was no different.
While the topic is serious, Barkley isn’t afraid to use strong words. On a live TNT show, he said, “You know what? I actually like San Francisco, I really do. Honestly, hey, listen. We’ve got to do something about the homeless.”
He added, “They need their help. We’ve got to clean it up a little bit… I said help the homeless, and some of these people are so stupid, they booed.”
This isn’t the first time Charles barkley has spoken about the issue. In 2022, he called San Francisco “dirty,” and earlier this year, he even joked that he wouldn’t go there for All-Star Weekend.
Charles Barkley hates San Francisco
During last year’s All-Star Game in Indianapolis, Charles Barkley sparked controversy with his bold remarks about San Francisco. He didn’t hold back, calling the city full of “homeless crooks.” His words immediately drew strong reactions from his co-host, Draymond Green.
But Barkley stood by his statement without hesitation. He even took it a step further, saying, “If you had the chance between being cold or being around a bunch of homeless crooks in San Francisco, which would you take… You can’t even walk around down there… unless you have a bulletproof vest.”

Only someone as outspoken as Barkley would make such a strong claim on live TV, knowing it would stir up debate.
