Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes tells sports bettor to “be with me next time” after hilarious exchange at the Kentucky Derby

At a very young age, Patrick Mahomes has already attained such prominence that gamblers are now hesitant to take bets against him, as Jim McIngvale recently demonstrated.

American businessman Jim McIngvale, a mega bettor, is also known as “Mattress Mack” for his appearances in several commercials, dressing as a mattress. He gained notoriety for placing enormous, multi-million dollar bets on sporting events and earned $75 million after the Houston Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies to win the 2022 World Series. The amount paid is probably the biggest in sports betting history.

What did Mack Mattress say to Patrick Mahomes regarding his betting against the QB?

Mack walked into Mahomes at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, and he took the opportunity to make light of his own poor luck with betting. In the divisional round of the playoffs following the 2019 regular season, the man reportedly bet $1 million on the Texans to defeat the Chiefs, but the two-time MVP helped Kansas City overcome a 24-0 deficit to win 51-31.

Jim McIngvale, however, may not have taken the quarterback or his squad seriously because he staked the same amount that his hometown Titans would beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship. However, the Chiefs’ 17-7 deficit in the AFC championship against the Titans turned into a 35-24 victory, so his luck was not on his side that time either.

“You cost me millions betting against you,” Mack chuckled and said to Mahomes.

The Chiefs’ star player usually excels at both playing and responding articulately. The quarterback advised him to stick with his side the next time if he didn’t want to lose any money after hearing Mack’s comments about losing a lot of money.

“I appreciate it. Sorry about that one. You gotta be with me next time,” he responded.

In six seasons with the Chiefs, the quarterback has thrown for 24241 yards and 192 touchdowns. The 27-year-old quarterback is just the second in NFL history to have multiple seasons with 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns.

PM demonstrated to Mattress Mack why he was considered the second-best quarterback in the NFL by ESPN.
