Chris Oladokun was selected in the seventh round and his brief stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers was odd. He was cut late last week as the franchise attempted to reduce its roster in accordance with league regulations since he hardly ever got practice reps. Oladokun, though, has now recovered after joining the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad today.
Oladokun began playing on the depth chart at the bottom and was unable to advance. Oladokun seldom saw action, even during practice, while veteran quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, as well as fellow rookie Kenny Pickett, competed for the starting quarterback job in Pittsburgh.

A visit and a tryout vary in one basic way. Players that visit the team explore the facilities and interact with the personnel but don’t take part in any football practices. Tryouts involve a variety of activities, although football-related ones are the most significant.
Oladokun was a South Dakota State recruit who was known as a dual-threat passer. He made such an impression that the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to take a chance on him in the seventh round in the hopes that he would contribute to their future after Ben Roethlisberger. On August 23, Oladokun was cut from the Steelers’ roster as part of Wave 2 roster cuts.

Kansas City obviously had an interest in these two players before the draft. In particular, Oladokun offers the scout team a dual-threat option that none of the Chiefs’ other quarterbacks do. They might be searching for that particular type of skill level on the practice squad since Kyler Murray is expected to start in Week 1.
