Cristiano Ronaldo is granted permission to renovate Lisbon’s most pricy property as it requires refurbishment

Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Saudi Arabia after signing with Al-Nassr in a record-breaking $200m a year deal after his very public fallout with Manchester United. Despite living abroad, Ronaldo is still tending to his properties back in his home country of Portugal.

Ronaldo owns the most expensive apartment in Lisbon. The apartment is said to be around 7.2m euros and is in the vicinity of Eduardo VII park – one of the more posh areas of the city.

Ronaldo has finally received permission from the Lisbon City Council to modify the terrace of his property. He had a canopy built on the terrace of his roof but it had been removed due to not conforming to city regulations. Before the city council could carry out an investigation and deem it illegal, Ronaldo had the structure removed. (A canopy is a cover or shelter that is hung or held up over something.)

What permissions were granted to Cristiano Ronaldo?

The City council finally granted permission to the Portuguese superstar to build a “pergola”. The word pergola comes from Latin, meaning “projecting roof”. A pergola is a structure in a garden or park that consists of a framework covered with plants that climb or trail over it.

Ronaldo will be excited at the opportunity to renovate his apartment. It is expected to be ready by the end of 2023.

The house has a stunning view of the city and the river. It has multiple swimming pools, a spa, and a cineplex. It has a fantastic view of the river Tagus. However, the original architect of the house Jose Mateus is unhappy with the potential renovation, calling it a lack of respect towards him.

Affluent members of society are not usually known for having appropriate respect for authority. Trying to bribe their way out of regulations and lawsuits is pretty much common practice. CR7 is well-known for his character across the globe. So while his adherence to the proper regulations is appreciated, it doesn’t surprise many.

What is your opinion on the Portuguese star’s brand new home?
