Damar Hamlin health update: Bills’ DB discharged from hospital after suffering on-field cardiac arrest during game vs Bengals

Damar Hamlin, a name that echoed around the globe through the past week, finally has some good news to share. After a highly anticipated Monday Night Football game going down as one of the most tragic incidents in NFL history, the team from Buffalo was the first to break the news.

Earlier last week, on 2nd January, the Bills took on the Bengals; the game did not last for long as Damar had an accident while playing the match. The Bengals were leading the match 7-3, and someone from the Bills had to attempt to put a stop to the offense. Moreover, Damar Hamlin giving his hundred percent on the field, wasted no time tackling an attacking wide receiver Tee Higgins. Furthermore, after making the tackle, Hamlin got up only to go down again with a cardiac arrest.

Since then, Hamlin has been stuck in the hospital, waiting to recover. After a week of staying away from the field, the Buffalo Bills team and Damar Hamlin himself announce the Bills safety’s recovery and discharge from the hospital.

What did the Buffalo Bills and Damar Hamlin say?

To Begin with, on Monday, it was the Buffalo Bills first to announce the statement of UC Medical Center; in their tweet, the team from Buffalo wrote-

“We are thrilled and proud to share that Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital and returned to Buffalo.”

“He is doing well and this is the next stage of his recovery.”

Later, in the afternoon of the same day, Hamlin himself reassured his fans with his tweet, where he stated,

“Headed home to Buffalo today with a lot of love on my heart. 🫢🏾”

“Watching the world come together around me on Sunday was truly an amazing feeling.”

“The same love you all have shown me is the same love that I plan to put back into the world n more.”

“Bigger than football! 🫢🏾”

Having thanked his crowd Damar did not stop there as he also showed his appreciation towards the doctors, nurses, and the overall UC Medical Center in another tweet where he wrote,

“Grateful for the awesome care I received at UCMC. Happy to be back in Buffalo. The docs and nurses at Buffalo General have already made me feel at home! 🏩🫢🏾.”

It seems like wishes and prayers do come true; the fans coming to know about the swift recovery of Hamlin will be over the moon, and why not?
