Notably, he scored 40 points against Portland and added 28 points to Gonzaga’s triumph in the first round at Ball Arena in Denver. When he took Christian Braun from Kansas at No. 21 overall in the first round of the draft the year before, Calvin Booth had success.
Braun had a strong rookie year and was crucial to the Nuggets’ victory against Miami in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. It is yet unknown how Strawther will find his position on the team. Rookies have generally had their playing time restricted by coach Michael Malone, but Braun’s performance could have changed that practice.
Bruce Brown, a guard who declined his player option and is currently a free agent, is another player whose future with the Nuggets is uncertain. Although Brown stated a desire to rejoin the team, another team could be willing to give him a substantial contract.
