Puka was only 28 yards away from breaking the NFL rookie record for most receiving yards ( previously held by Bill Groman for Houston Oilers in 1960 with 1,473 yards), and 4 catches away from breaking the record for most catches (previously held by Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle in 2021 with 104 catches), and as expected, the rookie star broke both the records with his amazing play. At the end of the game, Puka Nacua had 105th catches and 1,486 receiving yards of the season on his name, which makes him the new record holder.
Puka Nacua playing in this game was also a strategic decision, as he was on the verge of hitting new heights, and him being rested between the game was another strategic decision that we got to witness in the game by Sean McVay. Moments after Puka Nacua broke the records, Sean McVay was seen ordering to bring him out.
