‘How is it not a red card?’ Soccer fans outraged as Man United defender Lisandro Martinez gets away after hitting Patrick Bamford’s head with his boot

Lisandro Martinez got away with a punishment after stubbing Patrick Bamford as Manchester United earned a hard fought 2-2 draw against the Leeds United on a Premier League midweek clash.

Manchester United hosted the Elland Road club as Gnonto advanced the Whites within a minute after scoring a beautiful goal with delicate little play with Bamford which left the visitors on sheer joy.

The ugly incident took place on the gasp of first half where Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Bamform went for a tussle and ended up being on the ground.

When recovering, Martinez stubbed Bamford’s head two times; first with the front side of the boot and then grazed his shin again which fumed the Leeds fans.

It was investigated by the VAR team and after a little conversation, Simon Hooper decided not to show red card to the Argentine butcher and fans were seen disgusted.

One fan said: “Martinez the ‘Butcher of Amsterdam’ getting away with running his foot across and down Bamford’s face there.”

Another added: “Lisandro Martinez should have been sent off for this silly challenge on Bamford.”

And a third said: “How is this not a red card??? Martinez’s studs in Bamford’s chin, then back over Bamford’s head as he got up… he knew exactly what he was doing there. Disgusting.”

Man United were really scruffy throughout the match as they trailed by two goals at the 60th minutes and Rashford pulled one back for them on 62 minutes.

Jadon Sancho completed the comeback for the Red Devils after scoring a gorgeous goal since his returning to the field only a few days ago and Erik Ten Hag will be pleased to see the revival of the talented superstar.

Ten Hag is a high tactician and has the experience to led Ajax to the great semi final of the UEFA Champions League in the 2018-19 season. Now a final awaiting for Man Utd in the EFL Cup, the Dutchman will be high in spirit.
