“It means a lot to know that she’s home safe” Warriors’ star Stephen Curry thanks President Joe Biden for securing release of Brittney Griner, during meeting at White House

President Joe Biden welcomed the 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors to the White House on Tuesday to celebrate their fourth championship in eight seasons. Earlier in the day, Coach Steve Kerr and star player Steph Curry stopped by the White House briefing to thank the administration for bringing home Brittney Griner, the WNBA star who had been jailed in Russia on drug charges.

The 34-year-old Curry expressed his warmth for Brittney calling her a “big part of our basketball family.” On Tuesday, Curry expressed his appreciation for President Biden and his team for their efforts in getting Brittney Griner back home, dubbing the visit agreat opportunity for the basketball community to thank them for all their hard work and diligence“.  “It means a lot to know that she’s here and home safe with her family,” the Golden State Warriors superstar added.

Kerr recently had the privilege of attending a roundtable discussion on gun violence alongside two of his players, Moses Moody and Klay Thompson, and White House officials. Affirming the efficiency of the administration’s effort, Kerr stated, “we learned a lot about what this administration is doing to help create a safer environment in our country.

President Biden made history last year by signing gun legislation, and he is determined to continue his mission to implement even stricter regulations, such as an assault weapons ban.

The Golden State Warriors have had quite a journey to win their championship. After winning in 2015, 2017, and 2018, their hopes of a dynastic reign atop the NBA were dashed due to injuries and roster changes. This led to them falling to the bottom of the NBA. However, the team was able to rebuild itself and win another championship in 2022.

The Warriors win is a testament to their resilience and determination. Their championship win serves as a reminder of the power of hard work, and that nothing is impossible with the right attitude.
