Ja Morant issues heartfelt apology after two game suspension for flashing gun at strip club

The Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant appeared on his Instagram live with a gun in his hand while partying with others at a strip club after Friday’s loss to Denver Nuggets.

The Grizzlies lost to table topper, Nuggets, in a low-scoring thriller by 97-113 while visiting the Ball Arena. The defeat took a huge toll on the Grizzlies players and fans, as they were looking forward to prolong their three-game winning streak. After the game, the Grizzlies star went to the strip club to sooth his mind it appeared.

However, Morant’s recent appearance with a gun in the strip club created a wrong impression and he had to express his take on this controversial act.

What did Ja Morant have to say in support of this act?

After receiving colossal backlash and negativity, the 23-year-old issued an apology stating: “I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis, and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down.”

He continued, “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.” His actions got him a two-game suspension from NBA, against Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers.

The Grizzlies are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 38-24 record after losing to table-topper Denver nuggets last night.

Ja is also being consistent with the team performance; demonstrating an electrifying performance this season, scoring on average 27.1 points with 6.0 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game in 53 appearances. His absence in the next two games might pressure the Grizzlies, but they are at a considerably secured spot in the playoff postseason.

This wasn’t the first time he was accused of questionable behavior regarding firearms; last year, Morant faced a lawsuit filed by a teenager whom the 6.2-footer assaulted and threatened with a gun later.

Again in January, after the game against the Indiana Pacers, his name became involved in an altercation with the Pacers team. Some of Ja’s fans were allegedly pointing guns at the pacers team bus but in both cases, lacking of evidence let Ja Morant get away without any consequences.
