Jey Uso Declares He’ll Be Champion After WrestleMania, No Matter Who He Chooses

Jey Uso and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther faced off on WWE Raw after Uso’s emotional promo following his surprise Royal Rumble win. His victory became the talk of the town, with many believing he deserved it.

But when Gunther interrupted him and threw harsh words his way, in response, Jey boldly declared that no matter what happens, he would walk out of WrestleMania as champion.

Jey Uso fought back tears as he thanked fans for making him the 2025 Royal Rumble winner. Now, he’s heading to WrestleMania 41’s main event—alone. That’s when Gunther interrupted on this Monday Night Raw.

Gunther dismissed Jey as an unworthy challenger, saying he couldn’t even lace his boots. He bragged about his dominance in WWE but refused to face Jey again.

Gunther admitted that beating legends like John Cena, CM Punk, or Roman Reigns would boost his legacy, but the “YEET” had everything to gain while he had everything to lose. He warned that if Jey chose him for “The Shows of the Shows,” every week would be hell, promising to break him “like a diseased dog.”

Jey remained unfazed and said he’d be on SmackDown to talk with Cody Rhodes and decide his WrestleMania opponent. No matter who he picks, he promised to leave WrestleMania as champion.

Jey Uso breaks silence on criticism of his WWE Royal Rumble victory

In an interview on ‘The Pat McAfee Show,’ Jey Uso talked about the criticism he got after winning the WWE Royal Rumble 2025. Many fans were hoping John Cena would win, thinking it would be his farewell moment. But when Uso won, it surprised a lot of people.

Uso didn’t hold back when responding to the backlash. He said, “That’s them, Uce. That’s them. That’s your opinion. You don’t strap my boots every week. You’re not on the road every week.”

He added, “I’m in the trenches like everybody else. I don’t pay no mind to that. I don’t need any of that. I’m just going to focus (forward), tunnel vision. Either hop on the train or get off the train. There are a lot of haters out there, Uce. They talk it because they can’t walk it.”

He has expressed a strong sense of positivity due to the overwhelming response he is receiving, something he never anticipated at this level. “Now I’m here, and I got places to go. Yeet”, he added.
