For the first time in Madison Square Garden’s 140-year history, two female boxers are headlining as undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor will face off seven-weight champion Amanda Serrano.
Taylor will defend her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring female lightweight titles. She is ranked top in Ring Magazine’s pound for pound women’s boxer, while the opponent Serrano holds the number 3 position.
Before turning pro in 2016, Taylor had some amazing records. She won five world champions in her amateur career, along with a gold medal for Ireland at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She unified the four major lightweight titles in 2019 against Delfine Persoon. Since then, she has been defending her titles, and the fight with Amanda Serrano will be her sixth. Taylor will join the bout with a 20-0 record.
On the other hand, Serrano turned pro in 2009, and since then, she has dominated different weight classes, such as Super Flyweight, Bantamweight, Super Bantamweight, Featherweight, Super featherweight, Lightweight, and Light welterweight. And she won titles in every fight class. Moreover, Amanda is the first women boxer in history who won world titles in the five-weight division. She also holds the gunnies world record for that.

Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano Prediction

Both Taylor and Serrano have a tremendous record. However, Serrano is the favorite tonight as she has overall power, and Taylor may get less opportunity to stoppage.
Moreover, Serrano is one of the best punchers in Women’s boxing, while Taylor is technical against a few of her rivals. But she has the ability to mix the power and can win the game by decision.
However, we will be rooting for Amanda Serrano.
