Kylian Mbappe beefing with Kebab shop owner leaves sour taste

Kylian Mbappe is a player who has been the talk of fans for quite some time now. The 25-year-old Frenchman has decided to leave PSG at the end of the season. Mbappe, who has been with the club for many years, will depart as a free agent.

However, football fans eagerly await the moment when Mbappe will join Los Blancos, as Real Madrid is seen as the ideal destination for the Frenchman. With such news swirling around, reports are emerging that Mbappe has been involved in a very peculiar incident off the field, which has quickly made headlines.

Kylian Mbappe sues kebab shop owner

Although Mbappe is often discussed for his records on the field, there’s more to him than just his on-field achievements. Recently, reports emerged that the PSG forward has taken legal action against a kebab shop. The lawsuit has been filed against the owner of the shop for using Mbappe’s image without legal authorization.

Nohamed Henni, a famous influencer and a big Marseille fan, was seen promoting his kebab using Mbappe’s image. His menu contained different types of kebab, but what upset the Frenchman was the description of the “Klüb kebab.”

The French influencer made a lighthearted remark by describing the kebab as, ‘baker round bread, as round as Mbappe skull.’ While many fans including Henni believed it was intended as a humorous observation, the humor was not fancied by the Frenchmen as he went to sue the Kebab shop owner. However, The Marseille fan didn’t stop there, he instantly replied to the allegations over him and continued to troll him over social media.

Mbappe’s lawyer, Delphine Verheyden, has filed a lawsuit against the kebab shop owner on behalf of KMA, the company that handles the player’s merchandise and image rights. The letter was sent to Henni, demanding that he remove the image of Kylian Mbappe from his menu within 8 days, or else he will be sued by the team.

Kylian Mbappe previously drew KFC’s ire

Kylian Mbappe’s stance against sponsorship isn’t new. Dated back to September 2022, Kylian Mbappe was initially involved in a similar instance involving the sponsorship matter with the famous food brand KFC. However, this instance differed from the recent Kebab case.

In 2022, Mbappe drew KFC’s ire when he refused to take part in a photoshoot with the French National Team which included the food brand sponsor. As per reports, Mbappe’s refusal to participate in endorsing betting companies was not limited to KFC, as he also declined offers from other betting companies.

Regarding this decision, Mbappe stated, “I have decided not to take part in the photo shoot after the French federation’s refusal to change the image rights agreement with the players.”

Conversely, Alain Beral, the vice president of KFC France, criticized Mbappe’s behavior, stating, “We have paid for something clear. If necessary, we will assert our rights.” Beral mentioned to the Sports Business Club that they would be taking legal action against Mbappe.

However, the matter was instantly put to an end after an official statement was released KFC France. They stated, “ KFC France also wishes to clarify that Alain Beral did not speak on behalf of the company, but in the context of a private conversation during an event related to his functions as president of the National Basketball League.”

Such off-field instances are often a source of entertainment for football fans, as long as no one is harmed. However, Mbappe’s involvement in such incidents has somewhat stained his reputation. Nevertheless, a player of his caliber knows how to redeem himself. So, share your views and tell us: Did Mbappe do the right thing, or is it too much for such a high-profile player?
