Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp “can’t wait” for Real Madrid after dominating victory vs Newcastle

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is very excited about their UEFA Champions League round of sixteen clash against Real Madrid and it is promised to be fire cracker of a game.

Liverpool will host the reigning champion at the Anfield fortress on February 21 with the German born manager is seeking for revenge after Real Madrid dumped them during the final in the last season and went on to clinch the title.

Liverpool against Real Madrid is always a huge occassion for the fans as the two famous clubs shared a rivalry between them. Real Madrid came on top of the All Reds in recent meetings but Liverpool manager has high optimistic about his team’s success this time around.

“I can’t wait for the game. Going to the Bernabeu will be tough too. But who cares? It is the Champions League! One of the biggest games in the world. It will be a top game and I’m happy we can play now.”- Klopp said at the pre-match press conference.

“Four weeks ago it would have been different, but life is all about timing. We need to play two super games to go through. We have to be at our best to stand a chance. For Real Madrid it is different – even if they don’t play their best they still stand a chance. That’s what is special about them.”- he continued.

Liverpool are slowly returning to form after winning back to back matches with a recent thumping 2-0 victory over Newcastle United and the team is in a right shape following the return of vital players from injury.

“We need results. There is no shadow of a doubt. Results-wise we were in a similar situation directly after the World Cup. We had two wins and it looked like maybe we were there. So we have to prove that point.”

“But it looks different. We feel it, we see it. It helps the mood massively. From here we have to go.”- Kloop explained.

Liverpool felt a little bit unlucky after what happened at Paris last year and how the fans were treated which could have led to a massive disaster as Klopp has sent a beautiful welcome message towards the Los Blancos supporters.

“Real Madrid fans should be welcomed in the best possible way,” he added. “Go out and enjoy the city – be in pubs and stuff like this. Enjoy your time here and come to one of the most historical football places in the world and enjoy yourselves.”- Jurgen Klopp concluded.
