However, in the recent Champions League clash of the RO16, Inter was knocked out by Atlético Madrid. Thuram played an important role throughout the match; however, it was not his performance but rather a peculiar incident that caught the eye of the fans.

During the clash of two powerhouse clubs, it was Atlético Madrid that came out on top, advancing to the quarterfinals. However, the win was slightly overshadowed by an X-rated moment between Inter’s Marcus Thuram and Atlético Madrid’s Savic in extra time.
The match finished with a 2-2 scoreline and went into extra time. However, Inter were fortunate to not be reduced to 10 men. In the early afternoon, Thuram was seen grabbing the private part of Madrid’s defender. The defender screamed and immediately went to the ground in a lot of pain. However, a few moments later, Thuram apologized for the act and both players had a laugh about it.
Even though Marcus Thuram was able to avoid the red card by VAR, it didn’t help Inter much as Inter lost to Atlético Madrid after a great goalkeeping display by Jan Oblak in the penalty shootout. After being eliminated from the Champions League, Inter will now be focusing on the league, where they face Napoli on March 18.
Fans shocked with Marcus Thuram’s behavior
A peculiar incident took place in the early half of the extra time, leaving the fans shocked. Marcus Thuram was involved in an incident with Savic, which was a potential red card for the player. However, Thuram was lucky enough to avoid the red card and was later substituted by the manager.
The Atlético Madrid fans were extremely disappointed with the way the referee addressed the situation, as they believe that such acts should always be given a straight red card. One of the fans couldn’t believe that this wasn’t a red card; he posted on X that “he deserved a card for that ?”
Another fan certainly had a little laugh about the incident. One of the fans posted, “Unleashing his inner Vinne Jones,” referring to an incident similar to this one between Vinne Jones and Paul Gascoigne.
Another said, “Stefan Savic is no stranger to the dark arts, but Marcus Thuram is very much below the belt here.” Other fans also made funny comments, with one stating that “Thuram was focusing on the wrong ball.”
