On February 3 at American Airlines Center, Dallas Mavericks star guard Luka Doncic suffered a horrific injury during a game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
On that Thursday, the Mavericks star clashed with the Pelicans center, Jonas Valanciunas, in an attempt to dunk during the third quarter. Consequently, he hurt his right heel after taking an imbalanced fall while jumping with the 7-foot center. Since then, Doncic hasn’t played any games.

At the time, it appeared that a serious injury had occurred, but the Slovenian was relieved when he received positive news from people in white coats.

Luka is in the middle of the best season in his professional basketball career. He scored an average of 33.4 points with 8.9 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game in 47 appearances this season. At this rate, he could be a leading contender for the season’s MVP.
The Mavericks won that game by a score of 111-106, but they lost the following game to the Golden State Warriors. The Euroleague champion has been out for four games, but the arrival of new star Kyrie Irving may make up for it.
Prior to the right heel contusion that made him leave the court, the guard scored 31 points with eight rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes of play. He was on the injury roster and listed as questionable for the game against the Sacramento Kings.
