McLaren’s Lando Norris warns ‘stupid and selfish’ activists, drops bold prediction ahead of British Grand Prix

Wanting to save the environment is a noble cause; however, it should not come at the cost of your life, as Lando Norris has rightly pointed out that it is “stupid and selfish” for activists to repeat what they pulled off last year at Silverstone again this time.

As Lando Norris gears up for his home GP, he hopes to surpass the two other Britons ahead of him in the championship standings, with Hamilton on 106 points and Russell at 72, while the Mclaren driver only holds 24 points to his name.

What did Lando Norris comment on protestors?

England is witnessing many instances of interruptions in sporting events in the name of creating environmental awareness. A case in point would be the “Just Stop Oil” campaigners who ran onto the track after Zhou’s crash at Silverstone last year, and the same group has disrupted cricket, horse racing, rugby and snooker in recent months. They even dispersed orange powder on the outfield at Lord’s during the infamous second Ashes Test last month.

“There is a concern. It is a stupid thing to do to put your life in danger with cars driving around. It is selfish to do simultaneously because of the consequences on the person driving the car if something happens.” Lando told the media about the incident.

“They’ve had the consequences of their actions from last year; of course, I hope it doesn’t happen again. I’m sure Silverstone will have measures to stop it,” he added. He told the media that it is easier for protestors to jump onto a cricket field than a Formula One circuit as one is life-endangering.

Which incident led to protestors interrupting sports matches?

The incident started last year at Silverstone and has continued throughout the year at various sporting events throughout Europe. The goal is to remind people how much carbon footprint F1 releases; however, they are ignorant of the 2026 rules, which will eliminate all their concerns.

These protests will not stop Lando Norris from being the best Brit on the grid on Sunday as he makes a bold prediction after having a great Austrian Grand Prix. Austria has always been a strong suit for Lando, and with the new upgrades, Lando is looking extremely promising for the Silverstone, which resembles the Austrian track.

“Silverstone is full of high-speed corners, which have been a big strength of ours, maybe not so much straight-line braking, which is another. There are further upgrades to come, so there’s good potential for us to compete against Mercedes again and for me to be the top Brit. That would be a pretty cool thing to do at Silverstone.” predicted Lando for the upcoming race.
