NBA Trade Rumors: 2023, 2024 second-round picks of the Detroit Pistons are reverted back to them from the New York Knicks via Miami Heats

The Knicks are trading center Nerlens Noel and guard Alec Burks into the Pistons’ salary cap space, giving them more room to make an undeniable offer to Brunson. That is a large sum of money unloaded by the Knicks. Over $28 million between Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks, and Kemba Walker.

The Pistons are using up a lot of their cap space, but it’s always possible that they’ll re-trade Burks or Noel to someone else. When completed, this will be a huge thing.

Detroit now obtains the $10 million contract of Alec Burks and the $9.2 million salary of Nerlens Noel. Both the athletes have a team option for 2023 or 24. The trade leaves the Pistons with $23 million in their bank account.

“The New York Knicks offer Jalen Brunson an enticing opportunity to run his own team. They play in a conference that potentially offers Brunson a more favorable path to All-Star status. The Knicks can also put Brunson alongside both his father (new Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson) and virtual second father (Knicks president of basketball operations Leon Rose) every day.”

“It’s a combination of lures that, when packaged with a forthcoming four-year contract offer from the Knicks expected to reach (or even cross) the $100 million threshold, has the Dallas Mavericks resigned to losing Brunson in free agency.”

The Miami Heat are the most recent team to be linked to the Detroit Pistons, although it could be more of a fan theory than an actual possibility. The Pistons’ power forward, Jerami Grant, would be a good fit for the Heat, as he would improve their defense and give them a starting five that could overpower any team in the NBA.

However, do the Heat have the assets to make a trade for Grant? It might not seem so, as they have already acquired multiple players from the New York Knicks, and maybe if they can manage to make some room for more financial resources, then they can surely bring Jerami Grant as well into their pavilion.
