NBA Twitter labels LeBron James a “liar” after his Warriors trade rumor response

LeBron James, in his historic NBA All-Star weekend, sheds some light on the recent events. With the Lakers’ inconsistent form and rumors of a rift with Darvin Ham, tabloids were having a field day, spawning exit theories for the 39-year-old.

During the Indianapolis weekend’s buzz, LeBron sat down with some familiar faces to address the truth behind it all. While LeBron provided a straightforward answer to the questions thrown at him, the internet finds it extremely difficult to take his words as a legitimate source of inside scoop.

LeBron James reacts to Warriors trade rumor

The Lakers legend, LeBron James, got the limelight during the trade window because of his unusual activities that hinted towards a possible trade of the 4-time NBA MVP winner. According to reports, the two teams that were interested in the 39-year-old were the Golden State Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers. Later, his agent, Rich Paul cleared the air encircling his future and confirmed that James would not be traded in the recently closed window.

Before the All-Star game, while talking to the TNT crew, LeBron was asked about the Warriors’ attempt to acquire him. He said, “I actually heard about it when everybody else heard about it. Obviously Charles been in the league, Kenny been in the league, Shaq been in the league, and sometimes there’s conversations that happen behind closed doors that you don’t even know about. Until, I guess, if it’s real or not, then they’ll bring it to you. But it never even got to me, so I heard it when the reports dropped as well.”

This year was James’ 20th consecutive appearance in the NBA All-Star game, but it did not end on a good note for him. James was leading the Western Conference team in the All-Star game, which they lost by 211-186. LBJ only played 14 minutes but scored 8 points for the team, along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

LeBron James gets called out for lying by fans

The Lakers forward admitted he was unaware that the Warriors were interested in acquiring him during the recent trade window. Despite reports suggesting the star was not keen on the trade terms proposed by the Warriors, celebrities must carefully choose their words to uphold their public image. However, there are instances when things go terribly wrong, and James experienced something similar.

The NBA fans started calling him out on X, saying that he was lying. One X user wrote, “I’m telling y’all, we’ve never seen a liar quite like LeBron James”.

Another user shared a picture that mentions the number of times James lied during the press conference. Those were not actual numbers but were based on sarcasm.

Some fans wrote, “There needs to be a segment where someone calls this man out for lying. Cut the PR crap and just keep it a buck man!”, “LeBron is notorious for lying”, “add this to the lebron lying compilation”.

One of them wrote, “LeBron playing innocent, huh? As if those eagle eyes miss anything! Maybe he’s just playing a sneaky peeky game with us” not believing a word the legend said during his chat session.

With the All-Star weekend behind him, the Lakers forward will turn his attention back to the next regular season game on Feb. 23, which is against his rumored admirer, the Golden State Warriors.
