NFL analyst urges Odell Beckham Jr. to sign with Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs to prove his worth

NFL analyst Nick Wright has recently made waves in the sports world by recommending star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, to prove his worth as a top-tier player.

After tearing an ACL in the Rams Super Bowl win, OBJ wasn’t seen on the field for the entire 2022 season. During his appearance in 96 games since 2014, the 30-year-old caught 531 passes for 7367 yards and 56 touchdowns.

Why NFL analysts are urging Odell Beckham Jr. to join the Chiefs?

On the recent episode of The Herd, the host Colin Cowherd cited Adam Schefter thinks the Ravens want the free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and asked Fox Sports broadcaster Nick Wright if he thinks it would be a good fit for the three-time Pro Bowler.

Putting himself in Beckham’s shoes, Nick replied citing OBJ should get enrolled in the Chiefs roster as it would provide him with the opportunity to showcase his capabilities with the team’s star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“I would want to go play with a great quarterback, I would want to once again have an opportunity to prove my value to the league. And let me just be honest Colin, I’d sign with the Chiefs, like what are we talking about here? JuJu Smith-Schuster, signed with the Chiefs for $3.7m, he made $9.5m dollars because he had $6m of incentives. And then he signed for $33m with the Patriots”, he stated.

Earlier in March, ESPN’s Marcus Spears also advised the three-time Pro Bowler to go for the Chiefs as Travis Kelce is TE and Beckham would be the only WR in the team, hence, he can moonlight as a hero for the team.

“He doesn’t need to be in the one spot but he’ll be a one in Kansas City, which is should be the obvious spot for him and when you think about it, he’s only the one wide receiver because Travis Kelce ain’t a wide receiver. That’s why he would be the one but he will still be the two”, Marcus said.

With the incredible performances of Mahomes and Travis, OBJ could be presented with a compelling opportunity to prove his worth and make a significant impact in the league once again.

However, how much the former rookie of the year will demand is going to be a major concern as he reportedly asked $20 million APY, however, the veteran star dismissed the rumor saying he didn’t agree to a $4 million deal, and nowhere he mentioned wanting $20 for a year.

As the NFL offseason progresses, eyes will be on the ultimate decision of Beckham. While several teams may be vying for his services, the experienced analysts’ advice to consider the Chiefs could potentially be the key for Beckham to prove his worth.
