NFL Rumors: Antonio Pierce and Champ Kelly are expected to replace HC Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler at Raiders

The Raiders decided to part ways with their head coach, Josh McDaniels, and general manager, Dave Ziegler, following a rocky start to the season. The team’s recent performance has been marked by challenges, resulting in a disappointing 3-5 record in the AFC West and poor performance on the offensive front.

Moving onwards, the Raiders are expected to appoint new leadership, and the team owners seem to have set their minds on Antonio Pierce and Champ Kelly.

Antonio Pierce to take over Josh McDaniels

The Raiders have introduced a new interim head coach after firing Josh McDaniels. Antonio Pierce, the Raiders’ linebackers coach, will be appointed as head coach.

Antonio is a former Giants star, where he led the team for some time and also won a Super Bowl in the 2008–2009 season. He has worked as a linebacker coach for the Raiders in the past, but now his role has been elevated.

Mark Davis, the team’s owner, announced on Tuesday night that the team has decided to fire HC Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler, shortly after a disappointing performance by the Raiders in a game against the Detroit Lions.

“After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave,” Davis said in a statement. “I want to thank them both for their hard work, and wish them and their families nothing but the best.”

The team faced a  26-14 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 8, where they managed only 157 yards of total offense.

The team had a 3-5 record and the lowest offense rate in the league, averaging just 15.8 points per game. Overall, Josh McDaniels performance wasn’t satisfactory. He has a 9-16 record across 25 games during his tenure as head coach. Therefore, the team has fired Josh McDaniels and signed Antonio Pierce.

Now, fans are looking forward to watching whether the team has made the right decision or another mistake.

Champ Kelly to replace Dave Ziegler

The team has not only introduced a new HC but also a new face for the position of GM. Champ Kelly will be replacing Dave Ziegler, the former GM of the Raiders.

Champ Kelly, the new GM of the team, has previously worked as the assistant GM for two seasons. Kelly also brings a wealth of experience from his work with the Broncos and Bears. He worked with these teams in their scouting.

With his diverse background, Kelly is also a suitable candidate for this position. These are very significant changes that the Raiders have made under their leadership.

The Raiders made these changes because of their poor performance and the many setbacks they have been facing this season. With these new steps, the team is aiming to address their struggles and perform better in the upcoming games.
