NFL world mourns death of Ryan Mallett, Tom Brady and former teammates pay heartwarming tribute

Ryan Mallett’s tragic demise was confirmed by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office via a Facebook post, attributing his untimely passing to drowning. At approximately 2:12 pm, emergency services responded to a distress call at a Destin beach, where witnesses observed a struggling group returning to shore, including Mallett. Lifeguards promptly rescued him from the water, but despite immediate CPR and swift transport to a nearby Destin hospital, Mallett could not be revived and succumbed to the incident.

Mallett, passed away on Tuesday, leaving the community aghast. Everyone in the NFL Fraternity, including the legendary QB Tom Brady, expressed their condolences and offered prayers for his family.

The 35-year-old Mallett played behind Brady for the Patriots during his first three NFL seasons. Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, honored his former teammate, as did other members of the football community. He wrote, in an Instagram story that included a photo of the two of them at Patriots practice.

Throughout Ryan Mallett’s time as a backup quarterback in New England from 2011 to 2013, Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett shared a locker room. They were close during their time together as teammates on the New England Patriots. Despite the competitive nature of their positions as quarterbacks, the two forged a tight bond off the pitch

Brady mentored Mallett, offering guidance and sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience. Their friendship was characterized by mutual respect, with Brady recognizing Mallett’s potential and talent. While their paths diverged as Mallett pursued opportunities with other teams, the bond remained intact. 

NFL teammates message to Ryan

The news of Ryan Mallett’s passing deeply saddened his friends, teammates and even opponents. They expressed their condolences and shared their memories of him. They mourn the loss of a talented individual.

The New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady used Ryan Mallett as their backup. A connection with Julian Edelman was unavoidable because their playing years required them to work well together. As he expressed support for his former teammate on Twitter, the former Patriots player appeared shook from the news.

“Tough one to swallow. Thoughts are with the family. #RIPRyanMallett,” Julian Edelman wrote.

The New England Patriots dynasty included James White, who never lost sight of his teammate. On social media, the former Bill Belichick running back also posted about the passing of his old friend.  James White declared:

“Rest in peace, Ryan Mallet! Gone way too soon, sending my condolences to his family!”

The Patriots lost a valuable member of their dynasty as well as a great soul. They posted:

“The New England Patriots are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden and unexpected passing of former quarterback Ryan Mallett. Our thoughts are with the Mallett family, his former teammates, and all who are mourning his loss” 

The 35 year old’s unexpected demise has deeply affected his former teammates, leaving them in a state of sorrow and shock. The loss of a respected colleague and friend has undoubtedly created a profound impact, leaving them grappling with grief and a void.
