Patrick Mahomes’ wife demands apology from critics after Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVII victory vs Eagles

Patrick Mahomes’ wife has demanded an apology from critics and pundits who doubted what the team would be capable of this season. The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes seems upset about the critics’ assumptions.

The Kansas City Chiefs captured their second championship since the 2019 season by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. Most pundits did not pick them to win the game, but the reigning NFL MVP came through in the clutch to help Kansas City win the game, 38-35, even though they were down by 10 at halftime.

“I think a lot of people need to apologize for what they said about this team at the beginning of this season,” Patrick Mahomes’ wife wrote.

At the beginning of the season, the noise crept in as division rivals like the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders added impact players to their offenses, and the Chiefs traded away one big receiver in Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. Many analysts considered the Chiefs one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl, though it was not something unanimously agreed upon.

Throughout most of the season, the Chiefs were criticized for not being a strong unit defensively, and their defense would not be able to hold up when it counted the most in clutch situations. Additionally, after the team traded star wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, they lacked another key option in the passing game to go along with tight end Travis Kelce.

Mahomes himself put forth a heroic effort to lead a second-half comeback when it appeared that the high ankle sprain he was playing through had been aggravated just before halftime. After coming out in the second half, Mahomes came up with several clutch running plays in key situations as it appeared that whatever pain he was in was no longer an issue.

The game was not decided until late in the fourth quarter when a holding penalty against Eagles cornerback James Bradberry gave the Chiefs a perfect field position to run out the remainder of the clock and kick a game-winning field goal. So, the apology demand of Patrick Mahomes’ wife seems plausible.

Most NFL pundits agreed that the Chiefs were among the Super Bowl favorites throughout a dominant 14-3 regular season that saw them grab the top seed in the AFC. After their Week 8 bye, the Chiefs’ only loss was a 27-24 defeat to the Bengals in Cincinnati.
