Russell Wilson might be a star quarterback in the NFL, but it seems like his physical build has failed to impress Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen.
During an appearance on a recent Podcast, Woolen roasted Wilson, who now plays for the Denver Broncos, and who used to be the Seahawks‘ play-caller.
Woolen didn’t hold back, saying that Wilson looks like a “sack of potatoes” in person, and that he was surprised at how short the quarterback was.
Despite Woolen’s criticisms, he did acknowledge Wilson’s athleticism and skills as a player. This is noteworthy, considering Woolen is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, while Wilson is just 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds.
Wilson’s build hasn’t stopped him from being a successful quarterback in the league, as he has two Super Bowl appearances and one championship under his belt.

"Damn, he's that short?" 🤣

Wilson and the Broncos played against the Seahawks during Week 1 of the 2022 season, where Seattle came out on top with a 17-16 win.
The Broncos had a disastrous season overall, finishing with a record of 5-12 despite having playoff hopes. Woolen, on the other hand, had a standout rookie season, helping the Seahawks reach the NFC playoffs and even making the Pro Bowl as a fifth-round draft pick from UTSA.
It’s worth noting that the Seahawks traded Wilson to the Broncos before last season, and in September 2022, Wilson agreed to a five-year contract extension with Denver worth $245 million.
While Woolen may not be impressed with Wilson’s physique, it’s clear that the quarterback’s abilities on the field have earned him a significant amount of recognition and compensation.
In the world of football, players come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes, even the most successful quarterbacks may not look the part. However, it’s the skills, talent, and dedication that truly matter in the game.
Despite Woolen’s jabs at Wilson’s appearance, it’s clear that the former Seahawk has established himself as one of the best, even if his build may not be what some people expect.
