The Lakers’ recent loss to the Utah Jazz was really embarrassing because the Jazz are one of the worst teams this season, ranking 14th in the Western Conference. With Anthony Davis’ scoring ability, the Lakers were never expected to lose to the Jazz.
But Luka Dončić, who was traded for Davis, didn’t perform the way AD used to. Sports commentator Skip Bayless didn’t hold back and blamed Luka for the Lakers’ poor defense.
The Lakers, who had won six games in a row, lost their winning streak against the struggling Jazz. Bayless, known for speaking his mind, criticized Luka Dončić since the Lakers needed strong defense without Anthony Davis.
He went on social media to share his frustration, saying Luka’s poor defense was a big reason the Lakers lost. This allowed the opponent to take advantage of this, scoring 54 points in the paint and 26 points on fast breaks.
Looks like Luka is rubbing off on the Lakers, who played no defense at 12-40 Utah and gave up 131 in an embarrassing loss.

Luka Dončić opens up about his condition after Lakers’ loss to Jazz
After the Lakers’ 131-119 loss to the Jazz, Luka Dončić spoke to the media about how he was feeling and the problems he faced in the game. He recently came back from a calf injury and admitted he felt a bit rusty and struggled on the court.
He said, “I felt a little bit rusty today,” Dončić said after the game. Two games in after my injury, turnovers, missed free throws. I gotta do way better. For me, it’s more mental rest than anything else.”
When asked about the status of his calf condition, Luka Dončić added, “It’s good, just getting back in rhythm.”
