The Los Angeles Lakers were on a great run with a six-game winning streak after Tuesday’s game against the Utah Jazz, bringing their record to 32-19. That win was even more special because Luka Dončić made his debut in the same game and started with a victory.
But just one day later, the same Jazz team—one of the worst this season with a 12-40 record—shocked everyone by defeating the strong Lakers 131-119, ending their streak in a surprising upset.
The Purple and Gold started strong, leading by 25 points in the first half. But the Jazz fought back, scoring 40 points in the third quarter and 27 in the fourth to complete an incredible comeback. Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 32 points, while Walker Kessler added 16 points, eight rebounds, and six blocks.
The Lakers struggled on defense badly, allowing the Jazz to score 54 points in the paint. Without Anthony Davis, who was traded to the Mavericks, and Mark William’s trade being canceled, they have a big gap in their frontcourt.
Beyond that, they still haven’t identified a suitable successor to Anthony Davis. Still, they’re looking for someone to make the team better.
Lakers set sights on Warriors star for big 3 upgrade
The Lakers made waves by landing Luka Dončić, but their work isn’t done. After a tough loss to the Jazz, it’s clear they need more firepower. Now, they have their eyes on Warriors’ young star Jonathan Kuminga to form a strong Big 3 with Dončić and LeBron.
I feel like trolling the haters so:

Jonathan Kuminga this season when playing 33+ minutes:
27 PPG // 2.75 APG // 8.25 RPG
56 2P% // 33 3P%
Just got the boot off 😤 nearing return https://t.co/xrfgzNkvPh
At just 22, Kuminga has impressed with his skills, averaging 16.8 points and 5 rebounds in 32 games before an ankle injury sidelined him in January. His talent and potential have caught the Lakers’ attention, making him a key target for their summer plans.
