Steve Kerr Raves About Kawhi Leonard Ahead of Return to Action

The Clippers have surprised everyone this season, with a 17-13 record and sitting in seventh place in the conference. Many thought they would struggle without superstar Kawhi Leonard, who has missed every game this season.

However, they’ve shown they are strong, ranking fifth in defense and tenth in net rating. Recently, Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised the Clippers’ performance and shared his thoughts on how good the team would be if Kawhi Leonard was playing with them.

The Clippers recently played the Golden State Warriors, and it was a tough game for Steve Kerr’s team, who lost their third straight match. The crowd of the game missed Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

Meanwhile, the Clippers’ balanced attack was impressive, especially considering they’ve been playing without Kawhi Leonard. With the win, the Clippers improved to an 18-13 record.

Steve Kerr knows how strong the Clippers’ defense is now, and he believes they’ll be even more dangerous when Kawhi returns. Before the Friday night game, he said, “I just hope he gets healthy. Kawhi is a great player… Multi-time champion, incredible two-way force.”

He added, “The league is better when he’s playing. I hope he gets healthy soon and finishes out the rest of the season. He deserves that and the league deserves that.”

When is Kawhi Leonard expected to return?

Since March 31, 2024, Kawhi has been out due to a knee injury and missed all the games this season. But recently, he shared a mysterious video that hinted he will return soon. The video mentioned his return several times, which suggests his recovery is complete.

The Los Angeles Clippers have announced that Kawhi is planning to return on January 4, 2025, in a game against the Atlanta Hawks at the Intuit Dome. The medical staff has been closely monitoring his recovery despite his in-court absence, as he has been practicing with the team since December 18, 2024.
