“The real deal” Steven Gerrard compares Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arjen Robben after outstanding performance in Chelsea debut vs Livepool

Chelsea is now smelling perfume in the air at Stamford Bridge with the new introduction of Mykhaylo Mudryk to their side and the Ukrainian looks like a hot cake after showing a glimpse of what he can do on his debut for the London club.

Steven Gerrard, a former Liverpool icon and member of the Premier League Hall of Fame, represented the Merseyside club for 17 long years while playing 476 games and scoring 146 times.

The former Aston Villa manager has nothing but praise for the upcoming sensation Mykhaylo Mudryk after the 22 years old played a glorious substitute cameo following his move from Shakhtar Donetsk to Chelsea.

“I thought that was a very strong cameo. He looks the real deal. Some of his clips today were outstanding. He reminded me a bit of Arjen Robben.”- Gerrard told BT Sports 1 after Chelsea’s game against Liverpool.

Initially rumored to join Arsenal, Chelsea hijacked the deal at the final hour, and the destination was diverted from Emirates to Stamford Bridge for the $72 million man.

Chelsea needs a statement on the field while Mudryk could be the example after promising so much during the home game against the 2020 Premier League champion. The upcoming superstar was instrumental in his playing and a treat to the eyes of football fans.

Gerrard looked to be impressed and pointed to the Chelsea fans stating they will be over the moon with the mercury signing. “His footwork, how quick he is, the way he manipulates the ball. I’d be very excited if I was Chelsea.”- former UCL winner told.

Chelsea is struggling this season after the Graham Potter side constantly dropped points and someone like Mudryk has to step up big for the blues if they want to pursue the dream to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

The situation is a bit tricky yet beautifully poised for Mudryk as he will be eyeing silverware and becoming the face of Chelsea while the six-time Premier League winners will be desperate for a Mudryk special to change their fate. Win or win situation for both parties.
