Transfer Rumor: Isco Announces Departure From Real Madrid, Tottenham Eyeing to Sign Spanish Midfielder

Real Madrid and Spanish midfielder Isco has announced that he will be leaving the European Champions, with a number of clubs interested in his signature.

Following Real Madrid’s 14th Champions League victory, midfielder Isco has announced that he will be leaving the club. The Spaniard, who joined Real from Malaga in 2013, ahs played more than 35 times for the Los Blancos. In that tenure, he has won three league titles, and four Champions Leagues.  He has already said goodbye to the Madrid fans as his contract expires in June, and will not be extended.

Even though Isco has own plenty of accolades at the Bernebeau, he has mostly been in the periphery of the squad in recent times. The 30-year old has just one league start since August. 

One of his potential destinations is Tottenham Hotspur. The Premier League side finished fourth lasts season, and are returning to the Champions League. Manager Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his squad, and Isco is said to be on his radar.

Apart from Spurs, the former Valencia man has also been linked to Real Betis and Sevilla.  Both the Andalusian teams have finished the season strongly and are looking for reinforcements.

At one point, Sevilla were going neck and neck with Real Madrid. Even though they finished fourth in the end, they will be looking for a strong finish next season.

Betis have ended the season with the Copa Del Rey trophy, and 5th position in the league. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are in the hunt for a Champions league berth, and Isco could be the man to spearhead them next season.
