Tyson Fury mocks Jon Jones with boxing ring showdown challenge: “Imagine the amount of right hands I’d catch you with here”

This week, Tyson Fury, the heavyweight boxing champion, made a strong comeback in the major headlines. While UFC champions Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya met in person and captivated the audience, Fury managed to grab attention with his taunting remarks aimed at Jones.

Over the past few months, Fury and Jones engaged in a Twitter feud that began when Joe Rogan predicted Jones would defeat Fury in a non-boxing match. Despite Fury’s disinterest in an MMA bout, he expressed a desire to see Jones step into the boxing ring.

In the meantime, Adesanya and Jones had a friendly light-sparring session during their meeting.

Fury went on Instagram and wrote, “Imagine the amount of right hands I’d catch you with here.”  Following Tyson’s verbal jabs at Jon, the UFC champion retaliated on social media. Jones remains confident in his ability to square off against Fury in the boxing ring.

Unfortunately, Fury currently does not have an opponent lined up after the cancellation of the highly anticipated super fight against Oleksandr Usyk due to failed contract negotiations.

However, options such as Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois, and Francis Ngannou are still available for the WBC heavyweight champion. If Fury manages to defeat Usyk, he could potentially be recognized as the greatest modern-day heavyweight boxer.

Meanwhile, Jon is set to face Stipe Miocic later this year. Jones aspires to leave a remarkable legacy as a fighter, being widely regarded as one of the most dominant figures in UFC history.

Fury remains without opponent after Usyk fight got canceled

Despite Tyson Fury’s taunts, it seems highly unlikely that he will venture into the MMA cage, while the possibility of Jones stepping into the boxing ring might be hindered by the stance of Dana White, the president of the UFC.

The uncertainty surrounding the clash of these two champions adds to the intrigue of their potential matchup. Jones wrote, “I have no reason to doubt myself against any man. Give me a few months in a boxing camp. I like my chances, I may just knock you out.”

‘The Gypsy King’ needs to focus on finding an opponent fast as his last fight was a while ago. This prolonged inactivity along with aging issues could hinder his performance whenever he steps back into the ring.
