Update on Jalen Suggs: No significant injury, possible return timeline uncertain

Jalen Suggs’ rookie season was held back by injuries (fractured thumb, bone bruise on right ankle), forcing him to sit out for 34 games. He averaged an unimpressive number of 11.8 points and 4.4 assists last season. The 21-year-old star was healthy and prepared to gain more minutes on the court this season. Will the odds be in his favor this time?

Suggs’ fate seems to be repeating itself as he faced yet another injury during a preseason game on Friday night. When Suggs had to be helped off the field after the collision, both the team and the fans were afraid that he would get hurt badly.

Dorian Finney-Smith appeared to have pushed him from behind, causing him to hyperextend his left knee. Suggs was on the ground for several minutes before being brought back to the locker room.

On the other hand, the Magic confirmed that the injury is not as serious as it looked based on his MRI report. Although the star guard has suffered a left knee capsule sprain and bone bruise, everyone is relieved that he has avoided a more serious injury.

It is still uncertain when Suggs will return to the court, but it doesn’t seem to be long. The team has announced that his return will depend on his response to the treatment. Markelle Fultz, the Magic’s point guard, is already out of the team indefinitely with a fractured left big toe. Suggs’ injury would have had a devastating effect on the team.

The Orlando Magic and their fans are counting on Suggs this season. Hopefully, the injury will not get in the way of this young talent performing his best on the court.
