After graduating from Thomas Aquinas High School with a consensus five-star rating, Bosa had numerous offers from top-tier programs. Nevertheless, he ultimately chose to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes over schools like Alabama and Clemson.

Entering the college football scene, Bosa, who went shirtless for Kim Kardashian, wasted no time making an impact. In his true freshman year at Ohio State in 2016, he showcased his skills by playing in all 12 games. His stellar performance earned him a spot as the starting defensive end for the Buckeyes in seven games during his sophomore year.

Bosa’s tenure at Ohio State was marked by success on the field. The Buckeyes boasted a remarkable 23-4 record in his first two years, even reaching the College Football Playoff during his freshman season.

Nevertheless, in 2018, Bosa faced a setback when he underwent core muscle surgery, leading to his indefinite absence from the field. Subsequently, on October 16, he made the decision to withdraw from Ohio State for the remainder of the season.

Over the span of his three seasons at Ohio State, Nick Bosa put forward impressive statistics. In total, Bosa accumulated 77 tackles, 47 of which were solo, 29 tackles for loss, and 17.5 sacks over his collegiate career, as per NCAA.

In his freshman year, he tallied 29 tackles, 17 of which were solo tackles, in 12 games. He also recorded 7 tackles for loss and 5 sacks. Bosa’s stellar performance on the field garnered recognition from the Big Ten Conference and beyond.

In 2016, he was named a unanimous first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection and received the Smith-Brown Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year award. 

The following year saw his performance reach new heights as he played 14 games and amassed 34 tackles, including 19 solo tackles. His disruptive presence was evident, with 16 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. 

His impressive stats, including 32 total tackles and 7 sacks, solidified his status as one of the top defensive players in the conference. Additionally, his achievements extended to national recognition, earning him First-Team All-American honors in 2017. 

That same year, he was also named the Big Ten’s Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year for the second consecutive season and secured another First-Team All-Big Ten selection.

Despite a shortened season in 2018 due to injury, he managed to make an impact in the 3 games he played. He registered 14 tackles, 11 of which were solo tackles, along with 6 tackles for loss and 4 sacks in those games. 

Bosa’s remarkable collegiate career was further highlighted by his recognition as a Freshman All-American in 2016 and an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten in 2018.
